November 1 is reminiscent
of India’s unity in diversity. On this day several states, including Kerala, Madhya
Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Karnataka and Haryana representing varying cultures and
traditions came into existence.

The state of Madhya Pradesh was formed on this day in 1956. 44 years later, in 2000, Chhattisgarh was carved out of it as the 26th state of India.
