Punjab chief minister Bhagwant Singh Mann was admitted to a  private hospital, Indraprastha Apollo Hospital, in Delhi reportedly complaining of stomach pain. The 48-year-old was discharged on Thursday after almost 12 hours of hospitalisation.

The Indian Express on Tuesday night, quoting sources, reported that Mann was taken ill with a severe stomachache at his official residence in Chandigarh. The Punjab CM was then airlifted and admitted to the hospital in Delhi.

“His ailment was kept a closely guarded secret by the government as he was rushed to the Capital without his entire security staff,” the report mentioned sources saying.

As soon as the report was out, social media users started speculating that Mann got stomach infection because he drank water from the polluted Kali Bein, which is a holy rivulet in Sultanpur Lodi.
