In a recent segment of ICC, Afghanistan leg spinner Rashid Khan has picked his top five cricketers
in the shortest format of the game. Rashid Khan who himself is a very good T20
player has exclude himself from the list. The spin Wizard has chosen two Indian
players, one from South Africa, one from New Zealand and one from West Indies.

According to
Rashid Khan, if he has to make the World XI in T20s, then his top 5 players
will be Virat Kohli, AB de Villiers, Kane Williamson, Hardik Pandya and Kieron
Pollard.

Rashid said Indian
skipper Virat Kohli has the ability to step up and perform on any wickets. For Kohli
nature of the wicket doesn’t matters.

Speaking to
the ICC ahead of the T20 World Cup Rashid said about Virat Kohli that, “Doesn’t
really depend on the wicket, doesn’t matter whatever the wicket is, he is
someone who is going to step up and perform,”

Later, he picked
New Zealand skipper Kane Williamson under him he has played lot of cricket for the
same IPL franchise. He feels Kane brings calmness to the team with his presence.

He went on
to talk about AB de Villiers, the striker who gave him a reality check when he
entered the stadium as a 17-year-old in the previous T20 World Cup.

Rashid said
about AB de Villiers that, “A destructive batsman. Someone who can give you
quick runs at any stage, any wicket, against any bowler and he can play any
shot. As a captain, you will always love to have that batsman.”

To fill his all-rounder
section, he picked Mumbai Indians two hard-hitters Kieron Pollard and Hardik
Pandya. Rashid believes that they have the ability to turn around the game.

Rashid Khan
noted that he would want Pollard and Pandya at the crease if the team is facing
an uphill task when chasing down a total during the death overs. He added:

“These two
will be my key (batters) who can chase 80-90 when I need them in the last four-five
overs. They are the kind of batsmen who can do the job for you easily.”

In the upcoming
T20 World Cup Rashid will have a chance to face off against atleast two three of
his top five pick because Afghanistan is in the same group with New Zealand and
India.
