It’s been almost 11 years since the King of Pop
Michael Jackson
died but he is still alive in the hearts of many through his
music, dance, and style. Not only has he managed to influence the
musicians, and dancers across the globe, he has had a major impact on Bollywood
too.

Be it in films, songs, or dance
moves, the Hindi film industry has been impersonating his style for decades.
Popular stars like Hrithik Roshan, Tiger Shroff, Prabhu Deva, and Javed Jaffrey
have been inspired by MJ’s dancing style.

As we pay our tributes to Michael
Jackson, let us take a look at Bollywood’s obsession with him.

Hrithik Roshan

Bollywood actor Hrithik Roshan is one
of the best dancers in the Hindi film industry. He has been a fan of Michael
Jackson since his childhood days and his dance moves in ‘Bang Bang’ are quite
similar to MJ’s signature poses. The actor was pleasantly surprised when during
the shooting of ‘Kites’ in 2008, MJ walked up to him in his make-up room and
introduced himself.  Confirming the news a source told a news daily,
“It was funny to see someone like him who the whole world knows introducing
himself. Jackson and Hrithik spoke for a short time and then the singer left”.

Tiger Shroff

Tiger Shroff left everyone amazed
with his Michael Jackson inspired dance performance in debut movie ‘Heropanti’s’ song
‘Whistle Baja’. The ‘Baaghi’ actor also paid a fitting tribute to the King of
Pop in 2014 and called him the reason he started dancing.

Prabhu Deva

Considered as the MJ of India, Prabhu
Deva’s dance moves are crisp and energetic. The influence of King of Pop on
Prabhu Deva’s dancing style is quite evident in songs like ‘Muqala Muqabala’
from ‘Humse Hai Muqabala’, ‘Go Govinda’ from ‘Oh My God’, and, of course, ‘Que
Sera Sera’ from ‘Pukar’.

Javed Jaffery

Known for is dance moves, Javed
Jaffery is a big fan of Michael Jackson. He met the dancing legend in New York at
the Bollywood Awards. If you want to notice MJ’s imprint on Javed Jaffery’s
dancing style, look further than songs like ‘Bol Baby Bol Rock N Roll’, ‘Dekha
Tujhe to Dil Gane Laga’.

Amitabh Bachchan

Big B is also a fan of the singing
legend. The superstar was disturbed about MJ’s sudden death on June 25, 2009,
and he also wrote about it on his blog. The ‘Gulabo Sitabo’ actor had
shared an interesting story about his first meeting with the iconic pop star.
He wrote how Michael Jackson had knocked on his hotel room in New York by
mistake. He shared, “I had met him in New York once, when he had knocked on my
Hotel room door by mistake, thinking it was his … we were staying in the same
Hotel.”
