India is celebrating its 72nd Republic Day on Tuesday in the plight of the COVID-19 pandemic, however, the country witnessed the highlight of the day, Republic Day parade, in the national capital. In Delhi, the parade started from Vijay Chowk and moved towards the National Stadium. The wreath-laying function at the National War Memorial took place at 9 am. The newly inducted Rafale jets were the showstopper in the historical flypast. This year, India did not see any international dignitary or representative attending the ceremony as the chief guest. Ahead of the event, the Delhi police had restricted cross-traffic on Rajpath intersections from Monday afternoon. President Ram Nath Kovind addressed the nation on the eve of the 72nd Republic Day of India.
