Imagine it’s 1997,
and you’ve just returned home from school and are watching Shaktimaan on DD
National with your bowl of Maggi, wondering how the Indian superhero beats
Kilvish.

Children from the
1990s may now relive their childhood as India’s most popular superhero,
‘Shaktimaan’ is going to make a reappearance, but on the big screen this time.

Shaktimaan is making
a comeback in an animated avatar. WordSword Creations is working on a 3D
animation series with 26 episodes already completed. The company released the
trailer at Mumbai Comic Con on December 7.

The aim of animating
Shaktimaan is to educate today’s youth about the first Legendry Indian superheroes
and the good impact he had on
following generations. It is critical that we instil those educational values
in today’s youth that the character has already showed in the past.

The film adaptation
rights have been bought by Sony Pictures International Productions. For the big
screen, the future project has been redesigned as a superhero trilogy. However,
no information on which Indian actor will don the red and gold costume has been
released.

The first teaser,
which shows the superhero rising to save the city from what appears to be an
alien creature, was also released. “As darkness and evil prevail
over humanity, it is time for him to return.”

The trailer also
shows Shaktimaan’s new superhero outfit. Fans of the franchise may expect a
big-name director to direct the film, which will adhere to international
standards.

‘Shaktimaan’ still
remains one of India’s most iconic superheroes. In the television series that
ruled the small screen for over a decade, Mukesh Khanna played the character.

The teaser looks
super interesting and we can’t wait it to get released. All the 90’s kids out
there get ready to witness the all-new avatar of our very own Shaktimaan.
