The Centre on Wednesday banned 118 ‘malicious’ mobile applications, including the popular gaming app PUBG. The Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology stated that the 118 applications were prejudicial to the sovereignty and integrity of the country.

PUBG is a multiplayer battle royale game in which 100 players fight for supremacy on an island, and the last man standing wins the round earning a ‘Chicken Dinner’. The game is immensely popular among people of all ages and has been downloaded over a million times across the world.

With the game being banned in India, players will now have to resort to various alternatives. PUBG lovers can take heart from the fact that there are several lucrative alternatives available for them.

The alternatives available for players in India after the PUBG ban are:

Fortnite: The game is very similar to PUBG and is a free-to-play battle royale game in which 100 players fight to be the last man standing. An android and an IOS version of the game is available and can be downloaded from the Samsung Galaxy Store.  

Call of Duty (mobile): Call of Duty is a free-to-play shooter video game. The game can be played in multiplayer modes and is available in modes such as Prop Hunt, Rapid Fire, Sticks and Stones,2v2, Capture the Flag, and few others.

Rules of Survival: The game is a multiplayer online battle royale game that allows users to fight for survival. The last man standing wins the round. The game is available in five different modes.

Battlelands Royale: The game is a third-person battle royal shooter. Here players complete in 32-person battle royales and the game lasts for three to five minutes.

Creative Destruction: The game is a sandbox survival game and the survival of the smartest, quickest ensure victory for the player. The player must be the last man standing to win the game. The game is available on Google Play and was launched in 2018.

Mini-Militia: Another game that is not as lucrative as PUBG but is a viable alternative that allows friends to bond over.
