On Thursday, Indian equity benchmarks saw yet another range-bound trading day and concluded on a flat note, as investors remained cautious in the midst of rising Omicron cases. The major indices began quietly but quickly began to rise slightly in early morning trade.

Sensex fell 12.17 points or 0.02% to 57,794.32 and Nifty was down by 9.65 points or 0.06% to 17,203.95. Sensex touched high and low of 58,010.03 and 57,578.99, respectively and there were 16 stocks advancing against 14 stocks declining on the index while Nifty traded in a range of 17,264.05 and 17,146.35 and there were 23 stocks advancing against 27 stocks declining on the index.

Apollo Micro Systems, Cybertech Systems and Software, Websol Energy System, Rama Steel Tubes, Pasupati Acrylon and Patel Engineering have made fresh 52 weeks high on Friday.

Rama Steel Tubes has recently announced that it has received a new order from Uttar Pradesh Power Corporation Limited (UPPCL), total aggregating to Rs 4.33 crore.

Gensol Engineering has informed the exchange that it has received purchase orders from its reputed clients for the development of solar power projects aggregating to a capacity of around 10.7 MWp in the states of Gujarat, Karnataka and Madhya Pradesh, during December.

SBI Card said it has collaborated with Paytm to enable cardholders to tokenize their cards on devices and make payments through Paytm. The stock has traded quite volatile in Thursday’s trading session.

BANARBEADS, RML, RANEHOLDIN, RANEENGINE, and HIMATSEIDE were the top volume gainers.

Oil India’s stock has zoomed by 8 per cent in Thursday’s trading session. It has formed a long green candle with a decent spurt in volumes. Along with trading in a positive RSI, the charts show that the MACD indicator has also given an upward crossover.

A2ZINFRA, ADL, ADROITINFO, ADSL, and AJRINFRA hit the upper price band while 21STCENMGM, 63MOONS, AAKASH, AARVI, and AGROPHOS hit the lower price band. There were 164 securities that hit the upper band while 42 hit the lower band on December 31, 2021.
