The Humans of Bombay account posted this video which shows the rituals and festivities taking place for their wedding. The couple can be seen twinning in white suits during the wedding and in golden kurta during the Mehendi ceremony. The wedding took place in two styles, a traditional Bengali wedding as well as a Christian wedding with a ring ceremony and cake cutting.
Supriyo narrates their story and starts by saying that their date which was originally a coffee date turned into Abhay getting a haircut and lasted for seven hours. He goes on to say “ There was comfort from the start. We went on many such dates after that; I was falling for him”. He shared that both of them were poles apart, him being an extrovert and Abhay being an introvert but what really brought them together was family values, he said. Supriyo goes on to say that the only issue was that his parents didn’t know of his sexual orientation but on confrontation, his parents agreed and accepted Abhay as Supriyo’s partner.

Supriyo conveyed that what sealed the deal for him was the way Abhay took care of him when he was suffering from covid. “I had a high fever. The way Abhay looked after me then… he was the one! So amidst all the chaos, I proposed” Supriyo said. Family support was all they needed and they got married this December.
