Actor Sushant Singh Rajput’s family issued a statement after the Supreme Court‘s order of upholding the transfer of the FIR lodged in the late actor’s case from Patna to the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI).
The late actor’s family thanked their “friends, well-wishers, media and millions of fans worldwide” for their love and support, ANI reported.
They thanked Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar “for setting the wheel of justice in motion.”
“Now that the country’s premier investigating agency has taken over, we believe that all those involved in the dastardly crime will be brought to justice,” read the statement. The actor’s family has accused his girlfriend Rhea Chakraborty of abetting the actor’s suicide.
They said, public trust in institutions is important and the apex court’s order has reaffirmed their faith in “India as a robust democracy”.
“We love our country more than ever,” read the family’s statement in English. They issued the same statement in Hindi, as well.
KK Singh, father of the late actor, filed an FIR with Rajiv Nagar police station in Patna last month, accusing actor Rhea Chakraborty of abetting his son’s suicide.
