Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday chaired the COVID-19 review meeting, which was attended by Union Health Minister, principal secretary to PM, member (health) NITI Aayog and other departments of the government of India. PM Modi, in the meeting, called for keeping up efforts to contain the pandemic and also asked the authorities to not be complacent against it.
PM Modi, during the meeting, said that three vaccines are in advanced stages of development in India. Out of which two are in Phase II and one is in Phase III, PTI quoted the PMO saying in a statement.

The PMO said that two pan-India studies on the COVID-19 virus genome suggest the virus is genetically stable and has no major mutation in it.
The report also stated that Modi noted the steady decline in daily cases and growth rates.

“PM further directed that keeping in view geographical span & diversity of the country, the access to the vaccine should be ensured speedily. The PM stressed that every step in logistics, delivery, and administration should be put in place rigorously,” news agency ANI quoted the PMO.
“In an effort to help the global community, the Prime Minister directed that we should not limit our efforts to our immediate neighbourhood but also reach out to the entire world in providing vaccines, medicines and IT platforms for vaccine delivery system,” PMO said in a statement, ANI reported.

PM Modi also urged people to practice social distancing, carry out COVID-19 appropriate behaviour and self-restraint during festival season.
