In a video released on Thursday, Ramdev is heard proudly challenging the calls for his arrest and says “arrest to khair inka baap bhi nahi kar sakta Ramdev ko”)Even their father can not arrest me). See the video here.
“They just create ruckus and make noise and keep creating trends like Thug Ramdev, Mahathug Ramdev, Giraftar Ramdev,” he added.
The statements come after Ramdev’s comment on allopathy medicine calling it “stupid and diwaliya”, following which the Indian Medical Association (IMA) served him a defamation notice.
According to IMA’s press release, Ramdev, in a clip, said, “Lakho logo ki maut Allopathy ki dawai khane se hui hai (Lakhs of people have died after taking allopathic medicines).”
Ramdev also got roasted for his comments on oxygen shortage that the country faced in May amid the second deadly wave of COVID-19. Ridiculing the patients on oxygen support, he said, “They just don’t know how to breathe.”
Terming the remarks of the yoga guru a “criminal act” under section of 499 of the Indian Penal Code, the notice demanded a written apology from him within 15 days of its receipt, or else a compensation of Rs 1,000 crore will be demanded from him at the rate of Rs 50 lakh per member of the IMA.
