Indian batsman Cheteshwar Pujara on Saturday said that he is looking
forward to the upcoming England series, while at the same time not denying chances
of any future features in the Indian Premier League, reported NDTV.

The veteran batsman also shared his thoughts regarding upcoming England
series.

The top order player who navigated through a series of hard-hitting bouncers in Australia, said that there were no serious injuries he incurred
from the series, except a blood clot on the shoulder originating from a sharp impact
from the ball.

“Looking forward to the England series. Most important aspect is
to qualify for the World Test Championship final. The guys are aiming for that.
They play good cricket in India. They have done well in Sri Lanka as well. We
can’t take them lightly,” Pujara told NDTV, as he gave due to
importance to the England squad ahead of the February 5 Test to take place in
Chennai.

Not hiding his wishes to participate in the annual cricketing fest
that is the IPL, Pujara stated that he would very much want to play in the
league.

“Definitely want to be part of the IPL. Given an opportunity, I
am confident I’ll be able to do well,” he told NDTV.

India won the Test series with a 2-1 score in Australia, drawing the
third Test to initially keep it level and later on won the fourth to win the
series, displaying extraordinary resilience in the batting order.

Pujara’s performance emerged in the series as a means to accelerate
the Indian innings while handling suitably firepower from Australian pacers
such as Mitchell Starc and Pat Cummins.
