Super Kings
set their training camp in Surat for the Indian Premier League
(IPL) 2022 season. MS Dhoni, the captain of the franchise, is one of the first
players to join the training camp. India’s ICC U-19 World Cup-winning star
Rajvardhan Hangargekar has also joined the CSK camp and he is trying to learn from
Dhoni. In a video posted by the defending champions of IPL, the 19-year-old can
be seen interacting with Dhoni.

Hangargekar
can be seen practising his fast bowling and batting in the video. Dhoni seemed
to be practising beside him while the youngster was batting and the former
India captain came forward to offer him some inputs to help him hit a towering
six.

Hangargekar
then hit big six after six, displaying his ability to clear the ropes with
ease.

In
the IPL 2022 auction, CSK won the bid for all-rounder Hangargekar for Rs1.5
crore over Mumbai Indians last month. He played a vital role in India’s
triumphant U-19 World Cup campaign this year in the Caribbean.

Hangargekar
took four wickets in the tournament and also put valuable contributions from
the lower order.

CSK
will begin their title defence against the Kolkata Knight Riders on March 26 at
the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai in a repeat of 2021 final. They are in Group B
and will take on their fellow group members Sunrisers Hyderabad, Punjab Kings,
Royal Challengers Bangalore, and Gujarat Giants two times each. They will also
play their Group A counterparts Mumbai Indians twice apart from facing the
remaining teams from the group once.

This
season the IPL matches will be played in Mumbai and Pune across four venues.
While Mumbai’s Wankhede, Brabourne Stadium and DY Patil Stadium will most of
the matches, Pune’s Maharashtra Cricket Association Stadium is the only other
venue outside Mumbai.

This
season the IPL will be a 10-team tournament, with Lucknow Super Giant and
Gujarat Titans playing the richest T20 league of the world for the first time.
