A State
Reserve Police Force (SRPF) personnel was attacked by a crowd in Sangamner of Maharashtra’s Ahmednagar district. The police
personnel had gone to disperse a large assembly of people, who were breaking the guidelines set by the Maharashtra government to control the spread of COVID-19, but was sent back running for his life as crowd turned against him.

The local police have registered FIRs against several people, including five named
accused.

The accused are currently in hiding.

Maharashtra is one of the worst-affected state by coronavirus in India, reporting over 50,000 new cases everyday.
