Farmers, protesting against the Centre’s three new farm laws, late on Friday night closed Bastara toll plaza in Karnal, Haryana, as part of their agitation, ANI reported.

All the vehicles going through the toll plaza were being passed swiftly, as they did not have to stop to pay the toll tax, as seen in the video. The protesting farmers shut down all the toll points at Bastara toll plaza and allowed each vehicle to pass without any blockage.

This came on the 16th day of farmers’ protests when on Friday, Agriculture Minister Narendra Singh Tomar said the government is ready to ‘ready for reforms’ in new farm laws. Several levels of talks between the farmer leaders and the Centre have failed.

The farmer leaders met Union Home Minister Amit Shah on December 9 and agreed to wait for the Centre’s proposal, however, the next day, they rejected the proposal sent by the government.

The protesting farmers have said they will block the Delhi-Jaipur highway on Saturday, and on Monday, they will gherao the Bharatiya Janata Party headquarters and stage a sit-in protest outside the houses of BJP leaders.
