Gayatri Mantra is one of the most powerful Hindu prayers was written 2500 to 3500 years ago by Brahmarishi Vishvamitra in Sankrit. The prayer consists of 24 syllables organised inside a triplet of eight syllables. Gayatri Mantra is a verse found in Rigveda.

Brahmarishi Vishvamitra also known as Maharishi Vishvamitra is one of the most revered sages of ancient India. Rishi means ‘Sage’ and Vishvamitra means ‘friend of the universe.’ Sage Vishvamitra was originally a Kshatriya king named Kaushika.

Gayatri Mantra was written in honour of Goddess Gayatri who is also known as ‘Veda-Mata’ (Mother of Vedas). Goddess Gayatri eliminates darkness by spreading the light in our minds.
