Former Indian cricketer Roger Binny, who was a part of the 1983 World Cup- winning team, was on October 18 named the 36th president of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI). Binny’s appointment was announced at the BCCI’s AGM in Mumbai.
Actor Nishant Dahiya played the role of the former Indian all-rounder in Kabir Khan’s 83. The Ranveer Singh starrer is based on the Indian cricket team that clinched the World Cup trophy from West Indies in 1983. Roger Binny was the leading wicket-taker for India in the 83 World Cup.

Who is Nishant Dahiya?
Nishant Dahiya is an Indian actor and model. He was born on January 4, 1991, in Mhow, Madhya Pradesh. His father Rajendra Singh is an Indian Army Officer and his mother Urmila is a homemaker. He lived in various places across India relocating with his father every couple of years before finally settling in New Delhi. Nishant has an elder brother named Prashant Dahiya, a younger brother Aryan Dahiya and a younger sister Shivani Dahiya.

After completing high school, Nishant pursued his B.Tech in Computer Science & Engineering from Kurukshetra University, Haryana.
Dahiya auditioned for Grasim Mr. India Competition in 2006 and ended up being the first runner-up and winning the best smile and Mr. Photogenic titles. After this competition, he moved to Mumbai to pursue a career in acting. He appeared in several advertisements and was spotted by Yash Raj Films (YRF).

His first film Mujhse Fraaandship Karoge with YRF released in 2011. Thereafter, he appeared in Titoo MBA (2014), Meri Pyari Bindu (2017), Kedarnath (2018), and Raat Akeli Hai (2020). In 2020, Nishant was featured in the song “I DO” by Shannon K, who is the daughter of famous Indian playback singer Kumar Sanu.
