Apart from Amaravati Kathalu, his other short story “The Flood” has been translated into English.

Movie maker Shyam Benegal even brought to life some of his stories and made a series that was called Amravathi Ki Kathayen.

Amaravati Kathalu is a collection of Telugu short stories about the people of the village of Amaravati. The short stories were first published in the Andhra Jyothi newspaper.

Later it was taken up by a publisher and was published by Navodaya Publishers in the form of a book. The book has artwork done by renowned artist Bapu. While the book was re-printed numerous times, its television adaptation ran for two years.

His stories follow a typical Chekhovian style and are heart warming. What makes the stories special is that they are about the problems people face in their everyday lives.

The book has 101 stories with each one having a simple picture drawn by Bapu.
