A sunscreen of at least SPF 50 is extremely important in order to avoid sunburns at higher altitudes. One should also carry a lip balm with SPF protection, in order to prevent sunburnt lips.

A reusable water bottle can go a long way in helping you stay hydrated on your trek, since trekking and hiking is known to cause dehydration through sweating. Carrying compact snacks can also boost your energy during your trek and keep hunger at bay.

Power outlets are often scarce on treks, which is why it is important to carry your own power banks to charge the battery of your devices.

  • Trekking shoes 

Good gear can go in a long way in minimizing discomfort during your trek. Trekking shoes are designed to be lightweight, sturdy, and often are waterproof. Besides providing ankle protection, their soles also give firm grip on surfaces.
