After delaying the results for a long time due to the COVID-19 pandemic, secondary school education boards and state boards in India declared results of Class 10 and Class 12 exams. Amid the discussions regarding scores, IAS officer Nitin Sangwan shared his class 12 marksheet on Twitter to encourage students to accept whatever marks they scored and work hard for their future.

Sharing the picture of his marksheet on Twitter, Sangwan wrote, “In my 12th exams, I got 24 marks in Chemistry – just 1 mark above passing marks. But that didn’t decide what I wanted from my life. Don’t bog down kids with the burden of marks. Life is much more than board results. Let results be an opportunity for introspection and not for criticism.”

The post did not take much time to catch eyes. Soon, it went viral on Twitter and Sangwan got support from many other users. They praised Sangwan for his encouraging views, which may turn out to be beneficial for many students unhappy with their results.

“Absolutely true. Let the children’s learn and let not the Mark’s decide or certify what they are. Yes, Marks play a role in deciding the career or institution which they wish to join. But is life all about that? Is life all about earning,” a user commented.

In this year’s CBSE exam of class 12, over 1.5 lakh students have scored more than 90% and 88.75% students have cleared the examination. A total of 96.82% students passed in their ISC examinations.
