Law enforcement authorities of Queensland, Australia, found the remains of 69- year-old Andrew Heard inside a crocodile while investigating the fisherman’s disappearance. The crocodile, who lives in close vicinity to the place of disappearance, is about 13.8 feet long, according to US media reports.

In addition to a 10 feet long crocodile, the Queensland Department of Environment and Science later captured and killed the crocodile responsible for the death of Heard, while investigating the case, reported CNN.

Queensland law enforcement official, Andrew Cowie, confirmed the presence of “human remains” inside the crocodile while adding that investigations for the second crocodile are still pending.

Both animals were found in the area where Heard was believed to have been fishing, said Cowie, and the characteristics of the second crocodile are consistent with being involved in the incident.

Both the crocodiles, which have similar characteristics, were present near the location of Heard’s last sighting. Officials suspect that both the crocodiles were involved in the incident.

Crocodile attacks are rare in Australia, but Queensland officials run a public safety campaign to alert residents to the risks of swimming or relaxing near croc-infested waters, the report said.
