To “punish” a contractor for allegedly not getting drains cleaned correctly, a Shiv Sena MLA forced him to sit on a flooded road in Mumbai and invited passersby to pour trash on him.
Dilip Lande, MLA from Kandivali seat in north Mumbai, and many others are seen ordering the contractor to sit on the flooded road in photos that have gone viral.
A person approaches the contractor and pushes him while he sits. The MLA can then be seen ordering two guys as they heave and spill trash and slush on the contractor.

The contractor reportedly failed to clear the drains, and with the city experiencing significant monsoon rains in recent days, the clogged drains caused waterlogging on the road.
Lande later in a statement shared with the media said that people in charge of avoiding waterlogging in the region are failing to do their jobs.
The Shiv Sena MLA said, “But people have placed their trust and elected me an MLA. So to fulfill my duty, I came here with the chief of the local party unit and Shiv Sainiks to clean the drains.”
“This work was entrusted to the contractor but he did not do it. That is why I have come out on the street to get the drain cleaned. We brought the contractor here because he did not do his job,” added the politician.
