Musk took to Twitter on Thursday to dismiss as “utterly untrue” charges in a news story that he sexually assaulted a flight attendant on a private jet in 2016.
It was previously reported that Musk’s SpaceX paid $250,000 to settle a sexual harassment allegation from an unnamed private aircraft flight attendant who accused Musk of exposing himself to her in 2018.

The article cited an unnamed source who claimed to be a friend of the flight attendant. According to the report, the friend delivered a statement as part of the private settlement procedure.
“I have a challenge to this liar who claims their friend saw me ‘exposed’ – describe just one thing, anything at all (scars, tattoos, …) that isn’t known by the public. She won’t be able to do so, because it never happened,” Musk wrote in a tweet.

Musk implied on Friday that the recently uncovered sexual harassment complaint against him was politically driven, arguing that his stance on free speech had led to the situation.
Twitter user @catturd2 weighed in on Musk’s new allegations, tweeting, “LOL … @elonmusk says he’s going to vote Republican for the first time. The next day a sexual misconduct allegation suddenly appears. Elon is learning just how evil the Left really is – but I have a feeling, he’s going to win.”

The billionaire responded to the post, claiming that the left began “brewing all kinds of attacks” following the announcement of the Twitter takeover.
“In my 30 year career, including the entire MeToo era, there’s nothing to report, but, as soon as I say I intend to restore free speech to Twitter & vote Republican, suddenly there is …,” the 50-year-old added.
