The DeAndre Hopkins saga is finished after months of rumors. The 30-year-old wide receiver was released by the Arizona Cardinals on Friday after they unsuccessfully tried to trade him throughout the summer.

Despite Hopkins’ lack of interest in the trade market, there won’t be a shortage of teams vying for the receiver in free agency. It will take a combination of available cap space and need, given that OTAs are currently in progress, to make this fit worthwhile. These are the teams that Hopkins and the team trying to sign him could find interesting.

Baltimore Ravens

Lamar Jackson’s contract is now wrapped up, now it’s time to find some new weapons. The Ravens were thought to be interested in Hopkins during the draft. Although Odell Beckham Jr. was a big addition for the squad, there is still room for Hopkins.

Carolina Panthers

Hopkins’ probable homecoming is the deciding element in any Panthers trade. Being from Clemson, South Carolina, he might be interested in going back and playing for the team that he supported as a young fan.

Chicago Bears

Hopkins would help the Bears accomplish their current goal of having an impact. Hopkins joins D.J. Moore to form one of the league’s most intriguing duos right away, and he also gets the chance to play alongside Justin Fields, one of the league’s most promising rookie quarterbacks.

Detroit Lions

The team has a lot of talent, a good quarterback, and Amon-Ra St. Brown is a good receiver. The drop off after that is the issue, and Jameson Williams’ suspension makes matters worse.

In order to ensure that the Lions can reach their full potential and fill a gap until Jameson is back, Hopkins would be the ideal one-year choice. This would allow Hopkins the freedom to earn a respectable salary now and capitalize on a future agreement.

Indianapolis Colts

Hopkins would have to be happy with taking a little bit of a leap of faith here, since this is another rebuilding club with potential. Although Michael Pittman Jr. is a proven receiver for the Colts, Hopkins would still see plenty of targets if he agreed to play a role collecting passes from Anthony Richardson, a project.
