The era of Anthony Richardson has officially begun with the Indianapolis Colts. In his inaugural start against the Jacksonville Jaguars on Sunday, Richardson wasted no time making his mark and igniting the crowd’s enthusiasm. On the Colts’ third offensive possession, Richardson orchestrated an impressive 11-play, 75-yard touchdown drive.

During this drive, Richardson showcased his versatility, delivering exceptional passes and electrifying runs. He culminated the series with a two-yard quarterback draw, prompting an explosive celebration in Lucas Oil Stadium, complete with a 360-degree jump spike. Yet, no celebration rivaled the exuberance displayed by Richardson’s family.

The camera panned to Richardson’s family, situated in a suite, and they were utterly ecstatic. Richardson has consistently emphasized the strong bond he shares with his family, and their jubilation over his first NFL touchdown underscored the depth of their connection.

While it’s still early in the game, Richardson has already given his family and Colts fans plenty of reasons for excitement. In his first four drives, he completed six of seven passes for 56 yards and added 21 rushing yards on five carries, including the aforementioned touchdown. The score was tied at 7-7 against the Jaguars. With each successive series, head coach Shane Steichen is gradually expanding the playbook, and Richardson is handling the increased responsibility impressively in his debut.

Although it’s not even halftime yet, the Colts appear to be competitive against the defending AFC South champions. Hopefully, Richardson can continue to shine, make more impactful plays, and lead Indianapolis to a Week 1 victory, offering his family even more cause for celebration.
