Pakistan’s skipper Babar Azam has become
the fastest batsman to cross 2,000 runs in T20I. He achieved the feat in 52 innings. The star batsman reached the milestone in the
third and final T20I against Zimbabwe.

With this, he has dethroned his Indian counterpart Virat Kohli, who scored 2000 T20I runs in 56 innings.

Azam is a right-hand, top-order batsman known for his discipline and
level-headed attitude. Azam is a cousin to the Akmal brothers and started
his journey in cricket with under 15 world championships in 2008 and played two
under-19 World Cups in 2010 and 2012, where he was Pakistan’s top run-scorer.

He is the second-fastest player to score 2,000 ODI runs and the second quickest to reach 1,000
T20I runs.
