Arsenal defender Ben White was trolled for his poor performance in the first half of the Manchester City vs Arsenal Premier League decider on Wednesday. John Stones and Kevin De Bruyne scored to give the hosts a 2-0 lead at Etihad.

With the Premier League title at stake, City put their best foot forward with De Bruyne nailing a stunner in the seventh minute. Kyle Walker put a long pass forward from right-back only for Erling Haaland to bring it to half-line and send the Belgian midfielder in an empty pocket.

Kevin De Bruyne swirled the ball into the right corner, giving Arsenal goalkeeper Aaron Ramsdale no chance.

The John Stones goal came in the final seconds of the first half. The City centre-back beat Ben White to push a header past Ramsdale. The goal, initially checked by VAR, was allowed.

Arsenal fans then trolled White for his poor effort.

“Ben White’s not bothered about costing Arsenal the title because he doesn’t watch footy 🤣👊,” a Twitter user said.

“Ben White’s foot wouldn’t have been there if he watched a bit more football in his spare time…” another one added.

“Another utterly ridiculous VAR decision .. Of course John Stones was off-side .. He misjudged it and went too early .. His whole body and head was in front of Ben White except for half an inch of White’s big toe .. It’s a joke .. The off-side rule should not be about millimetres,” another Twitter user reacted.

De Bruyne scored early in the second half to give the hosts a big 3-0 advantage.
