Premier League club Arsenal’s Bukayo Saka has been named the Men’s PFA Young Player of the Year, beating Erling Haaland and Moises Caicedo for the title.

He collected the trophy in person at the Lowry Theatre in Manchester. Saka has been credited to inspire Arsenal to their best campaign in almost two decades. He scored 14 goals and contributed eight assists for Mikel Arteta’s side.

Bukayo came out on top by scoring a career-high 15 times in all competitions, as well as providing 11 assists. He was also involved in all 38 Premier League games for the second season, and starred at the 2022 World Cup for England by netting three times in four games during his team’s run to the quarter-finals in Qatar.

Bukayo Saka parents

Yomi Saka is the father of Bukayo Saka. He is a Nigerian businessman based in London. Bukayo has described his father as his inspiration and having a big impact in his football career.

Saka’s mother Adenike is a Nigerian-London based chartered accountant. She is from the Yoruba tribe, South West, Nigeria. She completed her high school education at Mayflower Secondary school, Lagos, before moving to the UK in the 1980s. She studied veterinary medicine at Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria.

Adenike obtained a Diploma in accounting from University of West London after moving to the UK. She currently works with O2 as a project Accountant-SMIP.
