Bushwhacker Butch Miller, WWE Hall of Famer wrestler, died at the age of 78, his nephew said in a statement posted on Facebook. 

His death comes a week after he was hospitalized in Los Angeles, where he had arrived for a special appearance in Wrestlemania.

In the statement, his nephew said: “Our dear Bob has passed away. Those we love never truly leave us. There are things that death cannot touch. We will always love u uncle until we meet again.”

Luke Williams, his long-time tag team partner, issued a statement saying, “Late last night, I lost my friend, brother and tag team partner of over 50 years with the passing of Bob ‘Butch’ Miller.”

“In life I had a brother and his name was Bob Miller. I love you, Bob. Until I see you again, WOOOOAHH YEEEEAAHH!” .

Miller is survived by his wife Hellen Miller and daughters Sharon and Kirsten. His estimated net worth was around $5 million, per reports. 

Reacting to his death, professional wrestler Frankie Kazarian said: “RIP Bushwhacker Butch. Godspeed sir. Thank you for everything, including the one match we had together. This is so sad. I ran into Luke at the hotel early on Thursday and chatted for a few. At one point later, I saw him requesting help as there was an emergency as I was leaving.”

Born as Robert Miller on October 21, 1944, in Auckland, New Zealand, he began his wrestling career in the 1970s in New Zealand and Australia, before making his way to North America. Miller rose to fame in the 1980s and 1990s as part of the tag team The Bushwhackers in WWE.
