Following the injury, Kirk left the game and walked to the locker room under his own power. During Jacksonville’s opening drive of the game, wide receiver Christian Kirk was forced to leave the field with trainers. This happened after he stumbled badly after receiving a 26-yard pass on the team’s opening play from scrimmage and needed help getting off the field.

Kirk is reportedly suffering from a groin issue and is doubtful to play out the rest of the game, according to Jacksonville.

Notably, Kirk is second in Jacksonville with three touchdown catches and leads the team in targets (84) and receiving yards (761) this season. Jacksonville was able to score on the first drive despite the loss thanks to a four-yard touchdown run by Travis Etienne. It’s important to note that in games where they score first in 2023, the Jaguars have a great 7-1 record.

After Kirk suffered an injury, several Jaguars fans reacted to it on social media. One user wrote, “So frustrating! I had Jonathan Taylor get hurt last week and then this week I lost Tank Dell in a running play and just now Christian Kirk on Jacksonville’s first offensive play.”

“And after that Christian Kirk injury, I’m completely uninterested in this game” another user wrote.

Christian Kirk is a star wide receiver for the Jacksonville Jaguars. After an exceptional high school career at Saguaro High School in Scottsdale, Arizona, where he excelled in both football and track, he started his football career at Texas A&M.

Kirk spent four seasons with the Arizona Cardinals after being chosen in the second round of the 2018 NFL Draft. During that time, he demonstrated his flexibility as a wide receiver, punt returner, and kick returner. He began a new chapter in his NFL career in 2022 when he inked a big four-year, $72 million contract with the Jacksonville Jaguars.
