Christian McCaffrey is a running back who plays for the Carolina Panthers in the National Football League (NFL). The 25-year-old has established himself as one of the best in his position and will start the 2021-22 season as the most wanted player in fantasy football. 

Player Bio:

Born in Castle Rock, Colorado on June 7, 1996, McCaffrey played college football at Stanford. In the 2015 college football season, he was adjudged the AP College Football Player of the Year and was one of the finalists for the Heisman Memorial Trophy. These achievements caught the attention of teams in the higher divisions, with the Panthers drafting him as their eighth pick overall in the 2017 NFL Draft. 

He has played for the Panthers throughout his career in the NFL so far, spanning four years.

Career highlights and records:

Christian McCaffrey holds the NCAA (National Collegiate Athletic Association) record or the most all-purpose yards with 3,864. Among his highlights in the NFL, he is one of only three players to ever record 1,000+ yards in both rushing and receiving in the same season, achieving the feat in 2019. 

Subsequently, he was named in the First-team All-Pro and Pro Bowl teams in 2019. He has 3,145 rushing yards in the NFL at an average of 4.6, along with 2,672 receiving yards at an average of 8.4. He also has 29 rushing touchdowns and 16 receiving touchdowns and has 220 receiving yards. 

Fantasy Performance:

Christian McCaffrey is coming off the back of an injury-hit season, playing just three matches. However, he still recorded five touchdowns and a combined 374 rushing and receiving yards. Over the years, he has scored a total of 855.7 fantasy points at an average of 18.4 per game.

His best points return was in 2019, scoring a total of 355.2 points in 16 games at an average of 22.2 per game. However, his highest points average per game was in 2020, averaging 24.5 per game for a total of 73.4 points from three games.
