Cincinnati Bengals wide receiver Tee Higgins suffered a rib injury during Sunday’s game against the Tennessee Titans. As a result, he was taken out of the game.

Higgins did not appear from the locker room for the start of the second half on Sunday. Before he was knocked out of the game, he had two catches for 19 yards.

After his Week 3 performance against the Los Angeles Rams, the fourth-year receiver was looking for a bounce-back performance. He had just two catches on eight targets for 21 yards in Cincinnati’s 19-16 victory on Monday night.

Last month Higgins talked about the likelihood of getting a contract extension on his rookie deal with the Bengals which expires at the end of this season. A source told ESPN that a long-term deal appears unlikely for Higgins.

Even Higgins seems unsure about his future with Bengals. “I have no clue,” Higgins said. “My job is to come in every day and do what I do best — work and catch the ball from No. 9 [quarterback Joe Burrow].”

His deal seems very different from the one the Bengals and Burrow struck last month, which included a five-year extension worth up to $275 million, with $219.01 million of that amount guaranteed.
