Cleveland Browns running back Nick Chubb has been placed on the COVID-19 list after testing positive for the virus and could miss this week’s game at New England Patriot, according to US media reports. Tuesday.

Chubb, who is one of the NFL’s best backs, was added to the list along with rookie running back Demetric Felton, according to Associated Press reports. However, Chubb, who is vaccinated, can still play at New England this week as long as he tests negative twice.

Last season, the Browns had a lot of problems with the coronavirus. Coach Kevin Stefanski was forced to miss Cleveland’s first playoff game since 2003 after testing positive for marijuana a few days before the wild-card game against Pittsburgh.

This season, the squad has avoided significant difficulties, but there have been four positive tests in the previous two days. On Monday, the COVID-19 list was updated to include running back John Kelly and practise squad wideout Lawrence Cager.

Due to a calf ailment, Chubb missed two games earlier this season. On only 14 runs, the back rushed for 137 yards and two touchdowns in Sunday’s win over Cincinnati (9.79 YPA).

D’Ernest Johnson is the sole healthy running back on the roster, with Kareem Hunt remaining on injured reserve and backup John Kelly being placed on the reserve/COVID-19 list on Monday.

When both Chubb and Hunt were sidelined in Week 7, Johnson rushed for 146 yards and a touchdown on 22 touches. If Chubb and the pass-catching Felton aren’t cleared by Sunday, the Browns may have to rely on the 25-year-old once more.

In Sunday’s 41-16 loss to Cincinnati, Chubb carried for 137 yards and two touchdowns. One of his touchdowns was a 70-yard sprint that clocked in at 21.1 mph.

This season, the 25-year-old Chubb has 721 yards and six touchdowns. With a calf injury, he missed two games.
