Damien Harris has a neck injury and will not return to the Sunday night game between the Buffalo Bills and the New York Giants, the Bills have said in an update after the running back was taken off field in an ambulance. The Bills said Harris has “movement in his arms and legs,” and that he is being taken to hospital for further testing.

Prayers went up as Damien Harris was hit, injuring his neck minutes just before halftime and the ambulance drove in at the Highmark Stadium stadium in New York.

His teammate, an emotional Damar Hamlin held in his head in his hand, as his own injury in the last season seemed to flash back. The Bills’ safety had suffered a cardiac arrest on field in January 2023 and was taken away in an ambulance.

Harris sustained the injury late in the second quarter as the Giants maintained a 6-0 lead. The impact from Giants’ middle linebacker Bobby Okereke during a critical play appeared to cause the injury, necessitating immediate medical attention.

Harris, known for his contributions to the Patriots since 2019, joined the Bills this season, bringing a wealth of experience and skill to the team’s offensive strategy. Having played for Alabama during his college years, his connection with Giants’ head coach Brian Daboll, former Alabama offensive coordinator and current Bills’ offensive coordinator, adds a personal dimension to this disconcerting event.
