Darren Waller is a tight end who plays for the Las Vegas
Raiders in the National Football League (NFL). The 28-year-old is coming off
the back of his best-ever season, stats-wise, in his pro career so far and
will definitely be a sought-after player in the fantasy draft.

Player bio:

Waller was born on September 13, 1992, in Landover, Maryland.
He is the great-grandson of jazz pianist Fats Waller. He was raised in both Colorado
Springs, Colorado as well as Marietta, Georgia. Waller produces hip-hop and rap
music in his spare time.

He started playing college football at Georgia Tech as a
wide receiver. In 33 games over 3 seasons, Waller recorded 51 receptions for
971 receiving yards at an average of 19 per game and nine receiving touchdowns.

He decided to forgo his final year in college football to
enter the 2015 NFL Draft.

Waller was picked by the Baltimore Ravens in the sixth round
(204th overall)  in 2015
NFL Draft. He began his rookie season as the sixth wide receiver in the depth
chart, behind Steve Smith Sr., Kamar Aiken, Michael Campanaro, Marlon Brown,
and Breshad Perriman.

His season was ended after being placed on the reserve
injured list in October 2015. Waller lost his way the next season, being
suspended for substance abuse twice that year, once for four months and for the
entire year the next time.

After being reinstated by the league in August 2018, Waller
was signed by the Oakland Raiders. He recorded six receptions for 75 yards in
the 2018 season.

It was after this move that Waller started making an
impression in the NFL and started realising his potential. In the 2019 season,
Waller recorded 90 receptions for 1,145 yards and three touchdowns. The next
season was even better, as he recorded career-high stats in receptions (107), receiving
yards (1,196), and touchdowns (9). His receptions were the fourth highest in the
league and highest among tight ends.

He was rewarded with his first and only Pro Bowl appearance
so far for his performances that season.

Waller has scored a total of 334.5 fantasy points at an
average of 4.7 per game in his career so far. His best season was in 2020 when
he scored 171.6 points at an average of 10.7 per game.
