Buffalo Bills vs Miami Dolphins wild-card game at the Highmark Stadium came down to the final seconds. Josh Allen and co were awarded a controversial first down call as they advanced to the next round, winning 34-31.

“That was not a first down. If this was a cowboys game it would’ve been called correctly #BillsVSFins,” a Twitter user said.

“No way that’s a first down plenty of evidence on 22 cameras 🤣” another one said.

“That’s not a first down absolute bullshit,” a third one tweeted.

Josh Allen and the second-seeded Buffalo Bills were put through their paces by the Miami Dolphins, who started seventh-round rookie and third-string quarterback Skylar Thompson.

However, the preseason Super Bowl favorites rallied for a 34-31 victory on Super Wild Card Weekend to advance to the AFC divisional round. Although they lost an early 17-0 lead, they recovered to take the lead 34-24 before forcing a crucial turnover with 2:22 left in the game.

After wide receiver Jaylen Waddle caught a pass from Thompson for 14 yards, the Dolphins were faced with a third-and-one situation from their own 48-yard line.

They continued to sprint up the middle without getting anywhere, and chaos ensued. As the play clock ticked down, Miami scrambled to line up, but the whistle to end the play arrived a beat after Thompson snapped the ball. Tyreek Hill received a heave from him as punishment for an incomplete pass.

The play, however, was meaningless since tight end Mike Gesicki was unable to catch tight end Terrence Thompson’s pass on fourth-and-six, preventing Miami from pulling off what would have tied for the second-largest playoff upset in the Super Bowl Era based on the spread.
