Professional wrestler and former World Wrestling Federation Entertainment(WWE) superstar Miroslav Barnyashev also known as Rusev announced on Twitter today that he had tested positive of COVID-19.
Previously Catherine Joy “CJ” Perry Rusevs partner had announced that her parents had also contracted coronavirus.

In the video published along with his tweet, Rusev informed viewers that his wife Catherine Perry’s mother who had to be hospitalized for treatment pertaining to complexities arising from coronavirus had finally been discharged. Rusev’s mother-in-law had to be hospitalized as she was an asthma patient however Perry’s father who contracted coronavirus did not need special medical attention.

Rusev further added that he was grateful to his fans who prayed for him and his family. 

Rusev however had not lost his typical sense of humour in spite of contracting the disease, in the video, Rusev goofed about how he had suggested protein shakes for his father-in-law to make up for his lost weight.

Rusev further added that he decided to get himself tested for coronavirus after he lost his sense of smell and taste and finally informed fans that he had tested positive of coronavirus.

Rusev once a fan favorite with the WWE was released by the company in April as part of budget cuts arising from the COVID-19 pandemic. In his stint with WWE Rusev won the United States Championship and also faced WWE legend The Undertaker at Royal Rumble in 2018.
