For the first time in NFL’s 102 season history, we have
witnessed a 14-11 halftime score. This unique history was made by the Dallas
Cowboys
and the Los Angles Chargers on Sunday. The Cowboys held the 14-11 lead
over the Chargers, prompting the search which confirmed the unusual halftime
score was a first.

CBS posted the graphic about the oddity before the end of
the first half. It was confirmed after doing a search via Sportradar.

The Cowboys eventually won the game by the more usual scoreline of 20-17.

The Chargers got to 11 points with Tristin Vizcaino’s
46-yard field goal and wide receiver Mike Williams catching a screen and going
11 yards for a touchdown. Los Angeles then made the 2-point conversion on
Austin Ekeler’s run up the middle.

Vizcaino had a chance to tie it late in the first half, but
his 44-yard attempt hit the left upright with 3 seconds remaining. Dallas got
the ball at their 49-yard line and nearly scored when Dak Prescott connected
with Ceedee Lamb at the Chargers’ 45-yard line.

Lamb then fund an opening and went up the right sideline,
lateraling it to Ezekiel Elliott at the 17-yard line before he was forced out of bounds by
Derwin James at the 3-yard line.

After Tristan Vizcaino tied the game with a 29-yard field
goal with 3:58 remaining, Dallas went 49 yards in 11 plays to get just barely
into Greg Zuerlein’s range. He connected on a 56-yard field goal as time expired to give the Cowboys the victory in the game.

Troy Pollard ran for 109 yards on 13 carries for the third
100-yard game of his career. Dak Prescott completed 23 of 27 passes for 237
yards as the Cowboys evened their record at 1-1 despite being without five
players who started the opener.
