During the series decider at Pune’s Maharashtra Cricket Association Stadium, India and England created a new record of hitting the most number of sixes in a three-match One Day International (ODI) series. As of now, a total of 59 sixes have been scored in the ongoing series.

The previous record was created in 2019 when New Zealand and Sri Lanka scored a total of 57 sixes together, according to ANI. 

Notably, India and England also hold the third position on this record list with 56 sixes, which were struck in 2017.

In the second match on Friday, England hit an astounding 20 sixes in a 337-run chase.

On Sunday, England won the toss and elected to field in the third ODI at Pune’s Gahunje Stadium. India was bundled out for 329 runs. The series is currently tied 1-1. The winner of the third and last match will take the trophy.
