The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) on Saturday  announced a 15-member squad for the three match ODI series against Zimbabwe, which will be played from August 18. Shikhar Dhawan, who was the stand-in captain for the recently concluded ODI series against West Indies, will lead the team. Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli have been rested. Chennai Super Kings all-rounder Deepak Chahar, was ruled out due to a back injury, will be making his comeback after 6 months. Kuldeep Yadav has also been included in the squad.

India is currently playing the T20I series against West Indies. On Friday, India beat West Indies by 68 runs in the opening T20 International. Invited to bat, India posted 190 for 6 with skipper Rohit Sharma top-scoring with 64 off 44 balls. Dinesh Karthik managed a quickfire 19-ball 41. The visiting side then restricted West Indies to 122 for 8 in 20 overs with Ravichandran Ashwin, Ravi Bishnoi and Arshdeep Singh taking two wickets apiece.For West Indies, Shamarh Brooks top-scored with 20.

KL Rahul, who is struck by COVID, was replaced by wicketkeeper-batter Sanju Samson in India’s squad for the five-match T20I series against West Indies. Rahul has been recovering from surgery. He was expected to make a comeback for the T20Is against West Indies, but tested positive for COVID.

After the series, will play the Asia Cup, followed by back-to-back series against Australia and South Africa.
