A late cameo from Ravindra Jadeja helped the
Chennai Super Kings (CSK) to a two-wicket win over the Kolkata Knight Riders
(KKR) at Abu Dhabi’s Sheikh Zayed Stadium on Sunday.

The win was CSK’s third consecutive in the
IPL’s UAE leg, taking them above the Delhi Capitals to the summit of the points
table.

Chasing a competitive target of 172, CSK’s
top order built the perfect platform for the chase, with Ruturaj Gaikwad (40),
Faf du Plessis (43) and Moeen Ali (32) all contributing with handy knocks.

However, KKR pulled the game back in their favour
with regular wickets as the CSK middle order failed to fire. Ambati Rayudu
(10), Ali, Suresh Raina (11) and MS Dhoni (1) all departed in quick succession.

However, the pendulum swung back in Chennai’s
favour with Jadeja’s blitz. The southpaw smashed 22 runs off just eight
deliveries, with his cameo glittered with two sixes and two fours.

The knock was lauded by fans and experts
alike on social media, with former Indian batsman Virendra Sehwag saying, “What
a magnificent victory for Chennai. Ravindra Jadeja top class with bat and ball
and Chennai are top of the table. After the situation last year, what a
comeback. Just stand up and applaud.”

Irfan Pathan said Jadeja is “an asset” for
any team, while Ayaz Memon called him a “superb player”.

Cricket commentator Harsha Bhogle said, “What
a player this Jadeja is! 4 overs for 21 and a wicket. And a game changing
innings. There is little that he cannot do!”
