The first play-off and eliminator of IPL 2022 will be held in Kolkata on May 24 and 26. The second playoff and final will be played at Ahmedabad’s Narendra Modi Stadium on May 27 and 29. All the matches will be held in front of a capacity crowd, reported PTI.

In another development, BCCI president Sourav Ganguly on Saturday confirmed that the three-team Women’s challenger will be held in Lucknow from May 24th to 28th after an apex council meeting of the board on Saturday. 

“The Women’s Challenger series will be held between May
24-28 at Lucknow’s Ekana Stadium,” BCCI president Ganguly told media persons.

“As far as the men’s IPL knock-out stage matches are
concerned, it would be held in Kolkata and Ahmedabad, with hundred percent
attendance allowed for the matches to be played after the league staged
finishes on May 22,” he added.

On March 6 this year, the BCCI announced the schedule for the IPL 2022.

A total number of 70 league matches and 4 Playoff games will be played over the duration of 65 days. The 15th season started on March 26 at the Wankhede Stadium with a match between Chennai Super Kings and Kolkata Knight Riders. Apart from the Wankhede Stadium, DY Patil Stadium in Navi Mumbai and MCA Stadium in Pune are hosting the league matches. 

In all, 20 matches each will be held at Wankhede Stadium & DY Patil Stadium, 15 matches each at Brabourne and MCA, Pune.

There are 12 double headers in total with the first match starting at 3:30PM IST. All evening matches start at 7:30PM IST.

The final game of the league stage will be played between Sunrisers Hyderabad and Punjab Kings on 22nd May at the Wankhede Stadium.

Earlier, it was announced that Ahmedabad’s Narendra Modi stadium will host the final but the date was not announced. The schedule for playoffs was also not announced. 

BCCI, however, has not yet made an official announcement about the final and playoffs.
