Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts now holds the title of highest paid player in NFL history. Hurts led his team to the 2023 Super Bowl but ultimately lost to Patrick Mahomes’ Kansas City Chiefs. Despite losing, Hurts earned a name for himself this past season and showcased amazing potential on the field.

The Eagles and Hurts have agreed to a five-year contract extension for $255 million, according to NFL. The contract includes around $180 million in total guaranteed amount throughout his tenure, including a huge $110 million fully guaranteed payout at the signing of the contract and another $126.5 million fully guaranteed in March 2024.

The contract also marks another first for the Eagles franchise with the first no-trade clause in Philadelphia Eagles history. The contract is a record in NFL history as it pays Hurts around $51 million per annum on average.

The second-highest player based on contract numbers is Aaron Rodgers, who earns around $50 million per year.
