New York Jets cornerback Sauce Gardner was penalized by referees for holding call against the Kansas City Chiefs in the week 4 game.

The call eventually took the opportunity from the Jets to go for a touchdown attempt, and they lost a close match to the Kansas City Chiefs by 20-23.

Several Jets fans blasted the NFL referees for the tough call which may have changed the course of the game. One X user wrote, “We shouldn’t even just be talking about the Sauce Gardner holding call. There were probably five bad calls on that drive. I’m incredulous at the blatancy. Coddling a star-studded team taken to the extreme.”

“Why did the refs throw the flag so late on the holding by Sauce Gardner?😭 They remembered that Taylor Swift was at the game and had to let the chiefs win.” another user tweeted.

One fan wrote, “Jets coach Robert Saleh said he wouldn’t comment on the holding call on Sauce Gardner that ultimately decided the game as the Jets never got the ball again”
