Jim Irsay, the owner of the Indianapolis Colts, was severely trolled on X after the team failed to find a suitable trade for their star running back Jonathan Taylor.

The former All-Pro running back will probably continue to be on the list of people who are physically unable to function, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter. During the roster cuts on Tuesday, Indianapolis placed Taylor on the reserve/physically unable to perform list, meaning he won’t be eligible for the first four weeks of the 2018 regular season. A continuing contract disagreement that has ruined the first six weeks of the 2023 season is the root of this issue.

Several NFL fans slammed Jim Irsay for the move. One user wrote, “Words cannot describe how much I dislike Jim Irsay right now”

“Absolutely, @JimIrsay doesn’t want to pay @JayT23 his value with a contract but he wants to be compensated at the highest level though he doesn’t value the RB position in the same light. This is definitely a Hostage Situation and the captor doesn’t want to negotiate” another user wrote.

One user tweeted, “What owner Jim Irsay is doing is treating Taylor like property. Treat JT right or let him walk. Irsay is and always been trash.”

The ongoing tussle involving the Indianapolis Colts and running back Jonathan Taylor took another turn on Tuesday. Multiple reports confirm that the Colts have decided to keep Taylor on the reserve/physically unable to perform (PUP) list, and despite some interest from other teams, no trade has materialized.

The 24-year-old had expressed his desire for a trade from Indianapolis back on July 30, primarily because contract extension negotiations were not progressing. While NFL Network had reported that two teams showed significant interest, no deal has been reached.

As a result of being on the PUP list, Taylor is not eligible to participate in the first four games of the upcoming season.
