Arizona Cardinals defensive end JJ Watt will retire after the 2022 season, he announced on Tuesday. He is considered one of the greatest defensive players in NFL history. Watt, the three-times NFL Defensive Player of the Year, said the 19-16 overtime loss to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers was his “last ever” home game this past Sunday.

“My heart is filled with nothing but love and gratitude,” Watt wrote on Twitter. “It’s been an absolute honor and a pleasure,” he added.
