This is Dobbins’ second severe injury in the last two seasons. He tore his ACL, LCL, meniscus, and hamstring in the final preseason game of 2021, forcing him to miss the whole regular season.

The Achilles injury is more significant than a torn ACL and usually necessitates a longer recovery period. Dobbins will be out for the whole 2023 season.

The Ravens are now down both of their starting running backs, as Gus Edwards has a knee injury. This could increase the burden on rookie running back Tyler Badie to perform. The loss of Dobbins is a significant blow to the Ravens’ offense. This season, he was projected to be a significant part of the team’s running game. The Ravens must now find a way to replace his output.

J.K. Dobbins is a running back in the National Football League (NFL) for the Baltimore Ravens. He attended Ohio State University and was a consensus All-American as well as the Big Ten Offensive Player of the Year in 2019.

The Ravens selected Dobbins in the second round of the 2020 NFL Draft. As a rookie, he had an early impression, rushing for 805 yards and nine touchdowns in 15 games. He made the PFWA All-Rookie Team.

His Achilles injury is a major setback in his NFL career. He is already coming off a ruptured ACL that forced him to miss the full 2021 season as well as most of last season.

Furthermore, Dobbins is only 24 years old. In his short career, he has already experienced two significant injuries. This casts doubt on his long-term viability.
