Kirby Smart, the head coach of Georgia, will take part in Day 2 of the SEC Media Days in Nashville. Smart will be joined on stage by TE Brock Bowers, DB Kamari Lassiter, and OL Sedrick Van Pran for the Bulldogs’ second appearance.

Kirby Smart’s Coaching Record:

Kirby Smart is best known for being the head coach of the Georgia Bulldogs football team. He took up the post in 2016, following Mark Richt. The Georgia Bulldogs, under Smart’s direction, had a great deal of success and rose to the top of the collegiate football world. He has guided the group to several bowl games and SEC Championship contests.

Kirby Smart had a lot of coaching experience as an assistant before taking the helm at Georgia. He has held positions as the defensive coordinator and coach for defensive backs at a number of colleges and universities, including Valdosta State, Florida State, and the University of Alabama.

Kirby Smart’s Wife:

Kirby Smart is married to Mary Beth Lycett. Mary participated in basketball at the University of Georgia. The couple tied the knot in 2006. They have three kids together and have been together for 17 years now.

Kirby Smart’s Children:

Julia Smart, Weston Smart, and Andrew Smart are Kirby Smart’s three children.

Julia Smart is the twin sister of Weston Smart, Kirby Smart’s first son, and the only daughter of Kirby Smart and Mary Beth Lycett. Weston and Julia are both 13 years old. The nine-year-old Andrew Smart is Kirby and Mary’s second son and last child.

Kirby Smart’s Football Career:

Smart began his playing career at Bainbridge High School before playing at the University of Georgia. He played defensive back for Georgia for four years and was selected to a first-team All-SEC selection as a senior.

Smart led the Bulldogs with six interceptions in 1997 and five in 1998, finishing his career with 13 interceptions, ranking fourth place all-time at Georgia. Additionally, he was a four-time SEC Academic Honour Roll member.

In 1999, Smart signed a free-agent contract with the Indianapolis Colts after going undrafted in the NFL Draft. However, he was cut before the start of the regular season in 1999 after spending the preseason with the team.
