Andre Longmore was a 40-year-old suspect in 4 weekend Georgia murders. He was shot and killed on Monday. Andre died while he was trying to leave the Dogwood Lakes community in Hampton, Georgia, a suburb near Atlanta. Police claimed that he was armed and dangerous while he was at large.

Longmore was killed, according to authorities, about 15 miles north of Hampton in the suburb of Jonesboro. As reported by Clayton County authorities, a sheriff’s deputy from Henry County spotted the SUV that Longmore had taken from one of the victims and started after him while calling for help. Clayton police claim that Longmore fled after opening fire on him.

According to Justin Robinson, Longmore entered a townhouse’s backyard. He was wounded, naked, and had a gun, as per Robinson. He claimed he notified police officers, who were met with gunshots when they entered the townhouse where Longmore had hidden.

Robinson added, “As soon as they open the back door, this guy starts shooting, shoots at the cops. The police started shooting.”

Officials reported that the attempt to bring down Longmore resulted in the injuries of two Clayton County police officers and a sheriff’s deputy from Henry County.

Henry County Sheriff Reginald Scandrett reported that one officer was shot in the back and was flown by helicopter to an Atlanta trauma center. “He is conscious, breathing and talking at this time,” Scandrett said.

Kevin Roberts, chief of police for Clayton County, stated that all three officers should make a full recovery. The other two injured officers’ conditions weren’t immediately made public.
